[ July 6, 2015 // Chris ]K Line has moved a donated fire engine free of charge to Peru on behalf of the Association of Fukui Peru friendship organisation. The vehicle was loaded onto a pure car carrier at Yokohama for the voyage to Callao, Peru in the end of July.
K Line has already moved an ambulance and a fire engine donated by the Yamaguchi Peru Association, in 2012. Nor is it the first fire engine to find its way to South America, courtesy of the freight industry. In 2013, Glasgow-based KC Group Shipping moved a refurbished fire tender from Miami to the remote town of Riberalta in Bolivia by sea and road.
