DB Schenker Rail UK said it welcomed the rail industry's Strategic Business Plan, published on 8 January. The cross-industry document supports Network Rail's plan for the railway over the next five year 'control period' from 2014 to 2019. The plan confirms continued development of the Strategic Rail Freight Network, with over £200 million invested on core corridors to handle larger, longer and heavier freight trains.
