German forwarder Deugro has set up a DHP Heavylift Solutions arm in Mumbai to operate its own barges and specialized trailer equipment in India. The initial investment is in two barges and four heavy duty modular trailer combinations. The new equipment will allow it to handle complex shipments along the coast while the smaller of the two barges will allow it to reach into the inland waterway network.
