Peel Ports apprentices stand tall

A team of 17 Peel Ports apprentices from Group will take part in the inaugural Apprentice Ship Cup challenge, sailing from Liverpool to Whitehaven and back again this June.

Organised by the Merseyside Adventure Sailing Trust (MAST) the event will see 173 apprentices, aged between 16 and 25, put their sailing and team working skills to the test on board one of four specially commissioned tall ships.

Peel Ports Group has committed its support to the event, which is also backed by some of the largest businesses in the North West, including BAE Systems, Sellafield Limited and Cammel Laird.

The competition is scheduled to run from 7-28 June, coinciding withj the International Festival of Business in Liverpool.
