Russia moves to solve TIR crisis
[ June 26, 2014 // Chris ]Russia’s first deputy prime minister chaired a meeting between the Ministry of Transport, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation (FCS RF) and other authorities, with the aim of finding a solution to the TIR crisis, the IRU reported on 24 June.
According to information available, “positive decisions” have apparently been taken notably the prolongation of the TIR guarantee agreement’s validity – set to expire on 1 July 2014 – until tender procedures are completed, as well as in relation to the reinstatement of the TIR System on Russian territory, in line with the latest decision of the Russian Supreme Court on 26 May.
