Freight bookings on the move from DFDS
[ September 15, 2014 // Chris ]Cross Channel ferry operator, DFDS Seaways, is trialling a new freight booking system for customers using mobile and tablet devices.Developed by DFDS’ IT development team, it is currently being trialled by six freight customers. Initial feedback has been extremely positive, adds freight sales director, Wayne Bullen.He adds: “We are hoping to be able to roll this out to all Channel freight account customers in the next couple of months.”
DFDS is also building a new couchette sleeping area in the quiet lounges on its Dunkirk vessels for drivers requiring a legal break period during their Channel crossing.
Further improvements include the introduction of a Twitter feed keeping customers on the road up to date with ferry service and port information @DFDSChnlFreight.
