Business as usual despite strike, says Lufthansa

Lufthansa Cargo says it plans to operate all of its flights despite the walkout by the pilots’ union, Vereinigung Cockpit in a long-running dispute over age of retirement . The strike is set to ground all cargo flights scheduled to depart from Frankfurt on Wednesday and Thursday but two flights will be departing earlier than scheduled, allowing them to avoid the strike period. As Lufthansa Cargo usually flies about half of its freight in the bellies of passenger aircraft, the effects on customers will be minimised, it says.
