Partners promise revolution in ocean freight procurement

[ October 20, 2014   //   ]

Oslo-based online benchmarking expert Xeneta and Kempten headquartered e-logistics sourcing firm Ticontract say they have revolutionised for web-based ocean freight procurement through their new ‘Tender Benchmark’ service. Ticontract director of business development, Oliver Kahrs, said the benefits of the new service “extend far beyond today’s procurement practice” and combines real-time market low and market average rates along with the current base price and the new offers received in a running e-bid.

Shippers are offered more than 20,000 global port-to-port pairs to enable better strategic and tactical decisions for containerised ocean freight, using actual contracts from more than 400 large global corporations to enable true insight into market-based freight costs in real time.

Ticontract has perfected the electronic freight procurement activities of industrial and retail corporations by maintaining the market-leading carrier database, a standardized RFP process, along with the sophisticated analysis and simulation tools necessary for evaluating tender results and allocation scenarios.
