Solihull site offers faster forwarding
[ December 11, 2015 // Chris ]Rohlig Logistics has opened a warehouse near Solihull that it says will vastly reduce the time it takes to get containers from the port of entry to market. Upgrades to infrastructure, technology and work processes will reduce turnaround times for the firm’s groupage containers to only three days.
Rohlig UK managing director, Gary Pryke, said that the new Solihull distribution centre, ten minutes from Birmingham, would be attractive to businesses looking to get product to market as quickly as possible.
He added: “We looked at every area of our operation to see where time efficiencies could be gained. By drawing on our experience in markets throughout the world, we were able to implement system, process and technology improvements that have made a huge difference to how fast we can get (containers) from port to market.”
The company would also expand its workforce and fleet to meet increased demand.
