Container truck chaos in south London
[ May 4, 2016 // Chris ]A truck carrying a Maersk container has caused transport chaos in south London after it crashed into a rail bridge at Tulse Hill this morning, the BBC reports.
The truck driver has been treated by paramedics for a hand injury, but otherwise there are no reported casualties.
However, the incident has caused widespread disruption on local rail commuter services and on the main A205 South Circular road. According to train operator Southern Railway, vehicles hit the bridge on average twice a month, despite the fact that it is plastered in large black and yellow warning signs.
Pictures showed the truck with its cab dislodged and the damaged container wedged beneath the bridge.
