Rails to Rotherham
[ July 11, 2016 // Chris ]Newell & Wright Transport’s recently opened terminal in Rotherham is the destination for the 33rd daily rail container service from the Port of Felixstowe, operated by GB Railfreight. The new daily service departs from the port’s North Rail Terminal.
Frank Newell, managing director of Newell & Wright Transport – a container haulier for over 40 years working with most major shipping lines, said there was a gap in the market for a rail terminal in the Yorkshire area.
He added: “We feel that we can now offer a one stop shop from the Port of Felixstowe to final delivery point in the Yorkshire region. This consists of a daily rail service and onward delivery via our own fleet. We can also offer container repairs, loading and unloading of containers into our warehouse and storage of both loaded and empty containers.”
The new daily service departs from the port’s North Rail Terminal which can to handle trains of up to 730m long. The new GB Railfreight service consists of 33 wagons.
