UK to seek new relationship with EU

A White Paper setting out the government’s goals for its Brexit negotiations with the EU, has confirmed Prime Minister Theresa May’s January statement that UK will withdraw from the single market and seek a new customs arrangement and a free trade agreement with the EU.

Yesterday, the secretary of state for Northern Ireland James Brokenshire ruled out the possibility of Northern Ireland having special status after Brexit. The government was working to get the best deal for all parts of the UK, he said.
