UPS extends dangerous goods programme

UPS has added more than 400 new commodities to its global dangerous goods shipping program on its global air network and more than 300 products to its ground network in Europe. The company also increased the allowable quantity of select dangerous goods accepted for shipment.

The carrier says it is in response to growing demand from , for example, healthcare companies that need to transport chemicals to clean laboratory equipment, or transporters of paint, compressed gases, adhesives and batteries. UPS can now ship between 36 countries, including the UK.

Customers can use its UPS Worldship system to verify if dangerous goods shipments meet the requirements, and notify UPS when the shipments are ready for processing.
