FedEx to buy up to 50 feeder planes

FedEx has signed a deal to buy 30 ATR 72-600F for its feeder operations, with options for a further 20 planes. Delivery of the first aircraft is expected in 2020, with subsequent deliveries of about six aircraft per year over a five-year period. They feature a forward large cargo door and a rear upper-hinged cargo door and advanced avionics. The aircraft has a bulk capacity of 2,630 cubic or up to seven LD3 containers.
