[ February 15, 2018   //   ]

Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics has signed a $20 million agreement with the Port of Zeebrugge to develop 49 hectares at Bastenaken West, nearly doubling the footprint of its terminal.

“The agreement marks the next step in WWL’s long-term commitment to the Port of Zeebrugge, the largest RoRo port in the world, and positions the company for continued growth and expansion all across Northern Europe,” says Ray Fitzgerald, President & COO WWL Landbased.

Since starting operations in the Belgian port in 1999, Wallenius has expanded its to include vehicle processing, technical services for heavy equipment, and yard management services. It says that the new concession will allow it to attract new business with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and other third parties.

Zeebrugge serves as an important hub for WWL with an established network of deep-sea, short-sea and inland transportation connections.
