Rhenus starts Dubai reefer groupage service

Rhenus Project Logistics is organising the first groupage seafreight service for temperature-controlled goods from Europe to the UAE from the beginning of August 2018. One or two containers every month will connect Switzerland, Germany, Austria and Benelux to Dubai and is primarily designed for temperature esensitive foods like chocolate, bakery products or cheese. Temperature can be set between +25 and -25°C. Reefers will initially be stuffed centrally at a refrigerated logistics warehouse in Breda in the Netherlands for the 19-day voyage to Jebel Ali and at the refrigerated premises of Rhenus’ partners. The forwarder adds that the service is a lower-cost alternative to airfreight.
