Two into one for AP Moller
[ September 20, 2018 // Chris ]AP Moller – Maersk is combine its offering for ocean products and supply chain services into a single end-to-end logistic solution for cargo owners. It said this would ensure an improved customer experience with fewer touchpoints and a more comprehensive service offering.
The integrated commercial organisation will operate with a single management team, sales force and customer experience organisation, headed by Vincent Clerc, chief commercial officer of Maersk. Damco chief executive Klaus Rud Sejling will take on a new position as head of Maersk’s logistics and services products, reporting to Vincent Clerc.
Damco’s freight forwarding business will continue to be run as a separate and independent business under the Damco brand.
In addition to these changes, three of AP Moller – Maersk’s regional carrier brands – MCC Transport, Sealand and Seago Line will be marketed as SeaLand – a Maersk company.
