Syria ban confirmed

EU foreign ministers agreed on 27 February impose further sanctions on Syria, including a ban on all-cargo flights operated by its carriers, along with trade in precious metals and diamonds. The sanctions are aimed at putting pressure on President Bashar al-Assad’s regime which has reportedly killed over 7,000 people in the current unrest.
