Explore electric avenues with Portsmouth Port
[ March 3, 2020 // Chris ]Portsmouth International Port is to mark WWF’s Earth Hour on 28 March, where the world switches off its lights at 8:30pm as a call for action to the climate crisis, with an ‘All Electric Day’, dedicated to reducing carbon footprint.
Running from 10am to 10pm, the port’s terminal building will host a free event which will show how to go electric and decrease carbon footprint. Local companies including Snows BMW, Pure Green Energy, VWT, Portsmouth Cycle World and Andy Sills Motorcycles will all be demonstrating green energy technology.
Leader of Portsmouth City Council, Gerald Vernon-Jackson, said: “Portsmouth International Port is the UK’s most successful municipal port and we now want to become one of the first zero emission ports. Events like this one allow the public to discover how they can also reduce their impact on the environment, alongside saving money in the long run.”
