Le Shuttle Freight falls 37%

[ February 5, 2021   //   ]

Le Shuttle Freight traffic fell by 37% in January compared with January 2020, to 82,484 vehicles. The operator blamed stockpiling towards the end of last year before Brexit, the need to adjust to the new post-Brexit border requirements and constraints linked to the health crisis with the compulsory requirement to present a negative Covid test, which may have discouraged some drivers.

However, the fall follows a strong performan ce in the closing months of 2020.

The passenger market continues to be strongly impacted by UK and French Government travel restrictions and was down 71%.
