Boston ready for behemoths

[ April 14, 2021   //   ]

The Port of Boston said it would be ‘big ship ready’ in the autumn as three new low profile neo-panamax cranes began their journey from Shanghai, China, heading for the Conley Container Terminal. The cranes, along with a new berth and a deepened harbour, will allow Boston to handle ships of 12,000-14,000teu. Currently, Conley is designed for 5,000 TEU ships, and can handle ships up to 10,000teu under certain conditions.
