A2B expands Anglo-Dutch operation
[ June 3, 2021 // Chris ]Dutch-based transport company A2B-online Container has added a fourth weekly sailing on its service between Hutchison Ports’ London Thamesport in Kent and Moerdijk in The Netherlands.
The new sailing was inaugurated by the A2B Comfort, one of six 508teu container ships operated by A2B in the North Sea.
A2B’s group sales director, Bart van ‘t Hof, said: “We are seeing an increase in volumes as a result of Brexit-related modal shift and as more industries restart after the Covid crisis. Through this extra sailing we have an opportunity to spread the increased volumes evenly throughout the week.
“We are very pleased to reconfirm our long term partnership with London Thamesport. Their focus on service and the excellent care we receive adds value to the quality product we offer our customers.”
A2B-online Container is a multi-modal short-sea operator specialising in full load, part load and pallet consignments to and from the UK, Benelux and Germany via Moerdijk and operates a fleet of more than 2,000 45ft pallet-wide containers.
London Thamesport director, Mark Taylor, added: “We are seeing a growing demand in the short-sea container market as a response to increasing labour shortages in the driver-accompanied market and changes due to Brexit.”
