Vancouver site smooths supply chains

[ September 10, 2021   //   ]

Maersk and railroad company Canadian Pacific (CP) have opened a 117,000sq ft Pacific Transload Express facility to make Asia/Pacific Northwest (PNW) supply chains more resilient. It can transload international containers into domestic 53-foot trailers giving savings on domestic distribution, while reducing port demurrage and inland detention costs. CP will shuttle containers by rail from the three major Vancouver container terminals to the facility, which will eliminate over 100,000 truck trips per year in the Vancouver area.
