New cranes lift Dover prospects

[ September 13, 2021   //   ]

The port of Dover has taken delivery of two new Liebherr Harbour cranes for its multi-purpose cargo terminal.

The larger of the two is an LHM 550 Mobile Harbour crane, capable of lifting 104 tonnes and with a maximum outreach of 54 metres. The second unit, an LHM 280 mobile Harbour crane can lift 84 tonnes with an outreach of 40 metres. They can handle traffics including steel, breakbulk, containers and palletised fruit.

In March 2021, Soreidom & Caribbean Line become the port’s first scheduled breakbulk customer after the terminal becoming fully temperature controlled at the end of 2020.
