Ports celebrate National Apprentice Week
[ February 10, 2022 // Chris ]The Port of Tilbury has marked National Apprenticeship Week (7-11 February) by awarding ten Level 2 Warehousing & Distribution Apprenticeship certificates following the successful completion of a two-year course.
All ten apprentices worked hard throughout the pandemic restrictions to play their part in ensuring the uninterrupted flow of food, medicines and constructions materials. Tilbury’s Warehouse and Supply Chain Operative Apprenticeship programme has been running since 2016 with 70 apprentices now having successfully courses. There are currently 18 apprentices on the programme.
Associated British Ports (ABP) meanwhile launched its Apprenticeship programme for 2022 to find the next generation of colleagues to join the business in September.
Applications are now open for roles covering specialisms such as marine operatives, mechanical/electrical engineering and IT in regions including the Humber, East Anglia, Southampton and South Wales.
