UK bans Russian ships

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps says the UK has passed a law banning ships with “any Russian connection” from entering its ports .He claimed the UK was the first nation to pass such a law.”

On 28 February, the UK told its ports not to handle Russian-registered or flagged ships ahead of new legislation coming into effect.

Protestors also gathered outside the Sullomn Voe terminal in the Orkney Islands protesting at the presence of a Russian-owned tanker.
