Cool Chain Association calls for data sharing to end inefficiency
[ April 7, 2022 // Chris ]The Cool Chain Association (CCA) has called for a digital risk management approach to make the perishables supply chain more efficient and reduce waste and extend shelf life.
CCA Board member and Founder and chief executive of FreshBizDev, Eric Mauroux, told delegates at the Fruit Logistica conference in Berlin on 7 April that the industry has been slow to adopt new technologies, and a lack of standardised reporting means that standards vary enormously across trade lanes.
Sharing data and adopting common Key Performance Indicators would give better understanding of temperature excursions, he said. Stakeholders should consider moving from a strict contractual framework towards new collaborative ways of working including data-sharing and shared objectives to improve performance.
