Government publishes NI Protocol Bill

The government has published  Northern Ireland Protocol Bill in which it plans to reduced the number of checks moving between Great Britain and Northern Ireland. In doing so, it is likely to face opposition from the EU which says that the UK will be disregarding international law, and it could open the way for the EU to start legal proceedings against the UK for breaching the protocol.

However, the EU said it would shortly publish its own proposals to help out smooth trade between GB and NI.
