Goodbye Pekaes, hello Geodis in Poland
[ October 3, 2022 // Chris Lewis ]The Pekaes operation in Poland is to be re-branded Geodis following its acquisition by the French-owned logistics company early last year. It said it would affirm its presence in the market and its end-to-end supply chain management across all the regions in which it operates. Geodis in Poland employs more than 1,400 employees across 32 sites and has seven warehouse facilities with a total storage area over 160,000sq m.
Pekaes is one of the oldest names in central and east European freight, having started out in 1958 as a state-owned transport company. It grew from a ten-truck operation to, at its peak, a fleet of 1,352 trucks and about 2,000 trailers with around 4,500 employees.
