Geodis deal puts wind in sail pioneer’s sales
[ January 18, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]Sealogis, a subsidiary of French-owned forwarder Geodis, has signed a partnership agreement with Zéphyr & Borée, a French start-up pioneer that is designing sail-powered cargo ships.
Sealogis will be responsible for presenting, promoting and marketing the services of Zéphyr & Borée to shippers and forwarders.
The shipping company, based in Lorient in Brittany, designs merchant ships equipped with sails. Under an agreement with the AUTF French freight transport users association, Zéphyr & Borée will launch a transatlantic container service in 2025. The wind-powered vessels will operate weekly service between Le Havre, Antwerp and the US East Coast, along with a similar route from Mediterranean ports.
