Logistics expert Colin Dunne to lead Irish Exporters Association

[ February 14, 2023   //   ]

Colin Dunne, Joint Managing Director of Dublin-headquartered International Warehousing & Transport (IWT), is the 2023 President of the Irish Exporters Association (IEA).

He has been an active member of the IEA’s National Council since 2014 and at the forefront of the challenges faced by Irish exporters and importers for many years.

The IEA represents exporters and supply chain operators across the country and works at regional, national, and European level, representing its members to create a regulatory and legislative framework that supports, drives, and fosters Irish exports.

IEA Chief Executive, Simon McKeever commented: “Colin is a recognised leader in his field and his experience and insights will no doubt support the efforts of the IEA over the coming year. He has been a member of our National Council for eight years and not only represents IWT but also the broader Irish logistics and supply chains sector.”

He added: “We are a growing organisation and are continuously developing solutions to assist our members in the transition towards more sustainable trade, market diversification and trade compliance, not to mention the growing competitive issues we face in our economy and the ever-lingering effects of Brexit and a declining UK. I am in no doubt Colin will be an excellent president in what will be another busy year for trade in Ireland.”

Colin Dunne added: “I look forward to using my role as President to support the IEA’s ongoing engagement with government and leading stakeholders to emphasise the role Irish exporters have to play in promoting Ireland abroad. While the global economy will continue to face challenges, it is important that we do not lose focus in meeting the long-term strategic issues we face as an Association, particularly in promoting more sustainable practices in international trade.”
