The robots take over in Turkey
[ April 4, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]Turkish parcel company Kuryenet says its new automated robotic sorting system is not only the first of its kind to be installed in the country but also represents the biggest application of robot-based technology in Europe.
The system was designed and fitted by LiBiao Robotics in conjunction with its partner, Lodamaster, at the Kuryenet facility in Tuzla, near Istanbul. It uses 120 LiBiao ‘Mini Yellow’ autonomous mobile robots to connect over 700 destination chutes with five parcel induction points and can process 45,000 items per hour.
As each individual robot can be replaced if required, the system does not suffer a single point of failure that can bring traditional systems to a halt.
