First sailing for UAE-Iraq route

Basra Gateway Terminal (BGT), International Container Terminal Services, Inc.’s (ICTSI) operation at the Port of Umm Qasr, has handled the first direct freight service between the United Arab Emirates and Iraq. Operated by DP World, the unaccompanied ro ro service connects Jebel Ali in Dubai with Umm Qasr in Iraq. It cuts the 14-day cross-border land journey between the two countries to only 36-hours.
