P&O celebrates 50 years of Ulster/Scotland freight
[ July 10, 2023 // Chris Lewis ]P&O Ferries is celebrating 50 years of ferry operation between Larne, Northern Ireland and Cairnryan, Scotland.
Since its establishment in 1973, the route has provided a crucial link between Northern Ireland and the rest of Europe.
The two ships operating on the route, European Highlander and European Causeway, now carry up to 3,500 freight units per week and 370,000 passengers a year.
As part of the commemorative events, P&O Ferries is hosting a celebration event at Larne Port, with historical photography and news clippings from the last five decades.
A special menu will be available to freight drivers.
