Food controls can kicked down the road again

The UK government has for the fifth time postponed checks on imports of food and food products from the EU, scheduled for October. According to press reports, the delay is due to concerns over the possible effect on prices due to the need for EU food exporters to the UK to obtain export health certificates. The controls were originally schedules to be introduced in July 2021.
