UPS offers AI customs tool

UPS is offering its exporter customers an artificial intelligence-powered tool to automatically generate the right HS codes for their products. A pilot has generated compliant codes for over a million shipments during a test period. Its launch coincides with the roll-out of the EU’s Import Control System 2 that requires businesses to provide detailed information about their products.

It also offers UPS Export Assure to help generate correct descriptions of products – another ICS2 requirement and UPS Paperless Invoice, allowing customers to electronically submit trade and customs documentation.
