EV Cargo cuts the carbon

EV Cargo says in its unveiled its second annual Sustainability Report that it reduced scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 29% during 2022. Itadded that it is pledged to attain carbon neutrality for scope 1 and 2 emissions and reduce scope 3 emissions by 25% by 2030.

In partnership with AB InBev, it introduced HVO biodiesel to replace traditional diesel, resulting in a 90% reduction in associated vehicle emissions, and co-loaded sea freight shipments, twinned containers and switched freight to rail, reducing transportation costs by $7.9m while saving 19,995 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions.

The Sustainability Report also outlines progress on diversity, equity and inclusivity and how, based on the UN Women International Women’s Empowerment Principles (WEP) Gender Gap Analysis Tool, EV Cargo increased its score from 29% in 2021 to 71% in 2022, significantly outperforming industry peers.
