P&O to add Rotterdam-Tilbury route in March
[ January 9, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]P&O Ferries is to launch a new freight route between Rotterdam and Tilbury in March, complementing its existing Zeebrugge/Tilbury service. It will be operated by the ex-Irish Sea 125 trailer capacity Norbank, which will depart from the Dutch port at 23.45 six days a week (Saturday night excepted) arriving in the Essex port at 07.45. Departure from Tilbury will be at 10.45am.
P&O Ferries also operates services into Hull and Teesport.
P&O Ferries’ chief executive, Peter Hebblethwaite, said: “The opening of our new route between London and Rotterdam gives P&O Ferries a unique network in the North Sea. We now have five hubs: Hull, Teesport, Tilbury, Zeebrugge and Europoort, connecting the North East and South East of England with the Continent.
“We will offer our freight customers the earliest arrival on the Thames from Rotterdam, along with swift access to the M25 and terminal rail connections. The opening of the London – Rotterdam route will mark another significant step in our business transformation and further contribute to the end-to-end logistics service offered by our parent company, DP World.”
