FedEx plugs in Spain to electric network

FedEx Express Europe has received the first of a fleet of 33 new Mercedes-Benz eSprinter vans being added to ground operations in Spain over the coming months.

The 3.5-tonne fully electric vehicles have been allocated to stations in Madrid and Barcelona, with 16 vehicles already picking up and delivering parcels in central Madrid and 17 vehicles will soon be on the road in Barcelona.

A total of 33 certified renewable energy charging points will be in place across both sites.

FedEx Express has already added 23 identical vehicles at its operations in London and Amsterdam, while 28 are pending for the Paris area.
