DFDS launches UK/Poland intermodal route

[ May 20, 2024   //   ]

DFDS has launched an intermodal sea-road-rail service between the UK and Poland, offering a substantial reduction in carbon emissions compared to previous solutions.
The route consists of a ferry leg from Immingham or Felixstowe, dependent on origin to the DFDS terminal in Vlaardingen, from where cargo is shunted by road to Rotterdam and loaded onto a train to Karsznice in Poland.
It links the industrial heartlands of Eastern Europe and the UK with two round trips per week and is ideal for transporting ambient dry goods, says DFDS.
