Stena to cut Rosslare-Cherbourg ship

Stena Line is to withdraw the Stena Vision from its Rosslare-Cherbourg route from 27 October, leaving the Stena Horizon to maintain a three days a week serviceof up to six crossings.

However, it would selectively deploy additional support vessels to the route during peak demand for freight and passengers, it said.

Stena said: “This decision has been taken in line with the company’s business model of deploying vessels where they will deliver the most efficient use of company resources.”

It added that there would be no job losses in the ports as a result of the decision and will be making every effort to absorb the Stena Vision crew into its workforce.
