CMA CGM delivers ‘robust’ performance
[ November 8, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]CMA CGM Group said it delivered a robust performance in the third quarter of 2024. Volumes carried on the main shipping routes remained very high mainly due to inventory rebuilding “in an environment still roiled by geopolitical tension” including the prospect of port strikes on the US East Coast and the US presidential election on 5 November. Rerouting of vessels via the Cape of Good Hope has continued to impede global trade, resulting in longer transit times and reduced shipping capacity. Volume carried in the third quarter was up 5.5% to 6.04 million TEU; shipping revenue was up 43.4% to US$10,850 million; logistics revenue was up 31.1% to $4,813m.
