CMA CGM signs Saudi ports and logistics deal
[ December 4, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]CMA CGM has signed a memorandum of understanding for port and logistics developments in Saudi Arabia. It is focused on developing port infrastructure in the Red Sea, logistics services and multimodal platforms to enhance Saudi Arabia’s inland logistics capabilities.
The deal was signed during a state visit to the Kingdom by French President Emmanuel by CMA CGM Group chairman and chief executive, Rodolphe Saadé and Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Investment and Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
CMA CGM says it will position it as a key player in Saudi Arabia’s port and logistics strategy, contributing to its Vision 2030 and economic diversification programmes. Currently, the CMA CGM Group has three offices in Saudi Arabia, along with a logistics network and 11 weekly shipping services. Its subsidiary CEVA Logistics provides end-to-end logistics solutions. In October, CEVA Logistics established a joint venture with Middle East supply chain operator Al-Majdouie.
