Dutch ports form united front against cyberattacks
[ December 11, 2024 // Chris Lewis ]The Seaports Trade Organisation (Brancheorganisatie Zeehavens, BOZ) in the Netherlands and the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management and the National Coordinator for Counterterrorism and Security (NCTV) have launched a nationwide cybersecurity platform for the sector.
Under the plan, the FERM Foundation – already operational at the ports of Rotterdam and Moerdijk – will be transformed into a national platform for all seaports in the country. FERM was founded in 2021 to foster cooperation between companies in the Port of Rotterdam and to raise corporate awareness of cyber risks.
Groningen Seaports, North Sea Port, Port of Rotterdam, Port of Moerdijk and Port of Amsterdam will work with local companies to ensure the port ecosystem becomes more digitally resilient.
