Multimodal to offer AI Clinic
[ March 31, 2025 // Chris Lewis ]This year’s Multimodal logistics and supply chain event on 17-19 June at the NEC will include a first-of-its-kind AI Clinic on the main exhibition floor. The dedicated space comes as research indicates 33% of supply chain businesses are prioritising internal cost reduction measures in response to trade uncertainties.
“The logistics industry is navigating unprecedented complexity as global trade patterns evolve,” said event director, Robert Jervis. “Our new AI Clinic addresses the urgent need for practical, implementable solutions that can help businesses adapt quickly. Visitors will gain insights from world-class experts who can demystify AI technology and demonstrate how it delivers immediate operational benefits while building long-term resilience.”
The acceleration of dual supply chain strategies – with 40% of businesses increasing US sourcing while maintaining China-facing operations – has created operational challenges that AI solutions are uniquely positioned to address. BMW, Poloplast and Emerson are already demonstrating AI’s transformative impact through digital twin technology, demand forecasting and enhanced supply chain visibility.
Head of supply chain management and sales logistics at Poloplast, Siegfried Wögerbauer, has reported “less wasteful ordering and less stock, but we are still delivering the same service level to our customers” after implementing AI-driven demand planning solutions.
The Mulitmodal conference programme will feature sessions across four theatres, with expert panels addressing critical topics including: How Artificial Intelligence is transforming Multimodal logistics; Boosting productivity with AI; AI Agents revolutionising trade compliance; and Driving logistics business using Microsoft D365 ecosystem and AI
