Coal porter
[ February 15, 2013 // Chris ]Leith near Edinburgh recently handled its largest-ever coal ship. The Alianca Pearl, seen leaving the port on Valentine’s Day, heading for Russia was, at 199 metres long and 30 metres wide – just 1.6m less than the lock width at Leith. It arrived from Poland via the Baltic Sea to discharge 27,500 tonnes of coal.
