Hazchem goes European
[ March 26, 2013 // Chris ]The Hazchem Network, the UK’s only dedicated pallet network for hazardous chemical distribution has recruited two new members – P&O Ferrymasters and Redhead International.
Together with existing Hazchem member Dachser of Germany, they will help Hazchem to extend its UK single and multiple pallet services to 24 countries in Europe.
Hazchem managing director Ali Karim says: “Despite the economic climate, our research flagged the need to offer international capability by linking with industry leaders. Our partners are renowned for freight solutions that meet the highest safety and quality standards – and they already serve customers requiring cross-border pallet delivery of speciality chemicals. They fit perfectly with our plans and we are delighted they have come on board.”
Hazchem handles more than 1,000 pallets and parcels per night from a 56,000 square foot purpose-designed hub in Rugby. Next day nationwide delivery is through 40 member hauliers – all compliant with the European Agreement on the Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road (ADR).
The European launch adds Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, The Netherlands, Hungary, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Norway, Poland, the Republic of Ireland, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
