Yusen provides link for Fairtrade

Yusen Logistics is providing international supply chain solutions for UK fair trade organisation, Traidcraft. The operation, which is based at Yusen Logistics’ Newcastle site, includes inbound and outbound global flows, as well as cross-docking shipments for the range of ingredients going into Fairtrade bars.

Yusen Logistics is handling a number of other trade lanes for Traidcraft, including FCL shipments to New York – both container build on-site and cross-docking shipments from the Czech Republic,

It also receives bulk product, including raisins, sultanas and sugar, from a wide variety of countries of origin, including Chile and Malawi in ocean containers, Customs cleared and delivered to Newcastle for devanning and handballing, with pallets built and shrink wrapped prior to storage and onward distribution through the Traidcraft network.

Yusen Logistics (India) has meanwhile opened a sales office in Jaipur, the capital of Rajasthan.It will offer services including ocean freight forwarding through the inland container depot in Jaipur and the railway, air freight forwarding and logistics services via the Jaipur warehouse, which started operation in June.
