A powerhouse of the German logistics industry

Rhenus Warehousing Solutions opened its first new multi- user warehouse at the Rhine port of Wesel on 11 August. The 86,000sq m fulfills BREEAM Excellent standards as part of Rhenus’ ‘Green Gate to Europe’ policy.

It says it is one of the largest combined solar panel systems in Europe with peak output of 9 megawatts and obtains its energy entirely from natural resources for its daily operations said borad member, Dr Stephan Peters.

As well as electric charging points for cars and e-bikes, a bus stop directly in front of the building allows employees to work in come to work as eco-friendly a manner as possible. Insect hotels and birdhouses complete the picture.
