A valuable cargo for Twentyshilling Wind Farm

Collett & Sons has completed delivery of all wind turbine components deliveries from the port of Hull to Twentyshilling Wind Farm in Dumfries & Galloway, Scotland.

The heavy haulier began moving the nine Vestas V117 turbines from King George V Dock the 170 miles to the site in June 2021.

The work also included building a turning head two miles from the construction site to facilitate the left turn needed to access the site.   

Collett used its super wing carriers to transport the 57 metre, 14.9 tonne blades, along with specialist clamp trailers, and 5- and 6-axle step-frame trailers.
